Our second successful Just Zoo It! campaign
Thank you to everyone who helped make Just Zoo It! a success again in 2012. Despite Hurricane Sandy interrupting a perfectly good Halloween week, area school children still collected more than $23,000 in nickels, dimes and quarters for the Delmarva Zoological Society. We expanded the campaign this year to includes schools in Wicomico, Somerset and Dorchester counties, and next year we hope to include Worcester County as well.
Our two year total for Just Zoo It! stands at more than $55,000! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your generosity has helped us open the new wallaby exhibit a year ahead of schedule.

What is Just Zoo It!?
At Halloween, kids in your neighborhood maybe collecting more than just candy. The Just Zoo It! program helped the Delmarva Zoological Society raise more than $55,000 in nickels, dimes and quarters for the Salisbury Zoo for the past two years.
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, including Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Outback Steakhouse, the Robinson Family of Businesses and more, school children on the Lower Shore get collection cans to fill at home, or by visiting friends and neighbors when they trick or treat.
Throughout the month of October, participating businesses also have collection cylinders for the Just Zoo It! campaign. All the money raised will help build a new exhibit at the Salisbury Zoo called Discover Australia.

Partnering with area schools
We partner with public and private schools in Wicomico County, Somerset County and Dorchester County for distribution of these containers to area school children the two weeks prior to Halloween.
