Naming Opportunities for Discover Australia
Outback Aviary - $ 300,000 (FUNDED) The Arthur W. Perdue Foundation
You have heard the song about the kookaburra in the old gum tree. We won’t have gum trees but you may have a kookaburra sitting in the tree next to you! This aviary will be Salisbury Zoological Park’s first walk through exhibit. By purchasing a feed stick, visitors will be encouraged to feed the various birds housed in this exhibit. Getting close to and creating connections to nature is our goal. What better way than to have several parrots sitting on your child’s arm!
Wallaby Exhibit - $ 350,000 (FUNDED) The Richard A. Henson Foundation
It looks like a kangaroo, it hops like a kangaroo, so it must be a . . . wallaby! Wallabies are smaller relatives of kangaroos. Many unusual animals come from the continent of Australia. The kangaroo family is probably one of the better known animal groups from Australia but, they are quite unique too. Along with the wallabies will be cereopsis geese, a terrestrial goose with a lime green bill.
Perennial Gardens - $ 40,000
A continuation of our perennial gardens to attract birds and butterflies will go across the entire front of the Wallaby Exhibit. These gardens will help provide security for the wallabies and create an attractive backdrop to the view as a visitor passes through the East gate into the Zoo.
Bronze Sculptures - $25,000 and $10,000
To continue our dedication to wildlife art, bronze wildlife sculptures will be added.
Interactive Exhibits - $10,000 (FUNDED) SU Foundation - Seagull Century
$10,000 (FUNDED) The Bobbi Biron Fund for Wicomico County Needs, Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore
Educating our visitors about the environment is an important part of the Zoo’s mission. These educational exhibits will provide visitors with more information on the environmental issues in Australia and send them home with a greater understanding of birds and wallabies.
Benches - $10,000 (3 available)
Benches will be made out of environmentally friendly recycled material.
